Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Alicia Fick and I started this blog because I love to write, and in hopes of setting a big table rich with encouragement and perspective.
I am a kinda crunchy Enneagram 9, ambivert, HSP, lover of good books, organic Swiss Water decaf coffee (because, nursing…) and DARK chocolate. Don’t come at me with your white chocolate which is NOT CHOCOLATE.
Anyway, my husband Stephen robbed the cradle and we married when I was just 18, and now our little tribe is settled amongst the hills of Reno, NV. I always wanted 4 kids, and it took us 23 years to get there, down a round-about path with stretches through infertility and stops at miscarriage and home births. We had our 4th son on Valentine’s Day 2019. Our little love child.
These days I can be found rolling out Play-Dough with my toddler, nursing my infant, making bone broth, planting fruit trees, homeschooling my tween and teen, and reading cook books like novels. I have enjoyed a 20+ year career in aviation insurance and risk management so I wear a corporate business hat 5 days a week too.
Our days are truly bountiful days, and for that we are immensely thankful.
